March catch up...

As March comes to an end, I take time to reflect on what happened and realise that once again it's been a really busy one!

Barry has started a new job with a longer communte meaning a big change in routine for us, Siena had her first ice cream of the year, lots of lovely walks outside as soon as it was sunny (living in England you learn to make the most of it!), we watched my brother-in-law to be run the Bath half marathon... busy busy busy!

This week, I've said goodbye to my little sister, who is moving to Australia tomorrow, to the Sunshine Coast to be specific. Just the name makes me feel warm and I can't wait to go and see her & her fiance once they are settled in! I am going to miss her so much, but hopefully they'll have Skype up and running in no time so we can chat as often as needed/liked!

Barry and I have also been watching Lambing Live and have surprisingly really enjoyed learning so much about farming and sheep, really interesting programme! As a result, we were keen to take part in some lambing activity and went to a Lambing weekend yesterday held by Wiltshire College in Lackham. We saw so many lambs it was amazing, we got to stroke them too (even me, I was really impressed with myself!) and even got to see an ewe give birth although sadly the lamb was stillborn (Siena is very matter of fact about death at the moment...). We also enjoyed a really lovely pub lunch in Lacock, and I can't wait to go back soon to visit the abbey. A lovely way to finish off the month of March!

What have you been up to this month?

Wedding Wednesday... Bridesmaid dresses

Sooooo the bridesmaids came round tonight to try on their dresses... I was really nervous about it as I really liked the dress, but you never know whether everyone will like it once on. I had also created a very specific idea in my head of how they would all look wearing it and finally, they only cost £29.99 each, leaving money to be spent on accessories and shoes! So despite trying not to get too excited about them too soon, I really hoped the dresses were going to work!

I am glad to say the verdict was a positive one! All three beautiful ladies loved the dresses and looked great in them, yay!

Although I found myself telling them several times that also, the dresses were great because they could  definitely wear them again.... Oh dear!

And relax... part 2

I have truly enjoyed a great weekend, and I feel really relaxed and tired but in a good way tonight. Ready to go to bed and have a nice long sleep... Well at least until Hugo wakes up for his feed that is.

After my lovely day yesterday with Chloe, Barry and I watched Insiduous Chapter 2 last night... Not recommended as part of the relaxation package, but we do love a good horror film!

Day 2 of the weekend was spent waking up early to go to Bath, in order to watch the lovely Mark run the Bath Half. The roads were empty until we got to Bath and people were beeping their car horns left right and centre while I was trying to park, very uncivilised if you ask me! After this stressful period, we eventually made our way to the start line and met up with my sister and her fiance Mark. It was a beautiful wet English winter day, and we got soaked!

Luckily Mark ran it a lot faster than I ever would have done, so we only had to hang around just under 1h30, and as we were in good company, time flew! Siena did have on about ten layers though to keep her warm, but she was as good as gold the whole time. She just ended up looking like a mix between ET and the little girl in Monsters Inc!

Following the run, we drove to Devizes and enjoyed a lovely pub lunch at the Crown. Loveliness, loveliness!

It's been great to spend time with Chloe and Mark, as they will be moving to Australia next month! So I definitely want to make the most of spending time in their company before they leave, and this weekend was great :)

What did you get up to this weekend? Hope you're ready for a new week!

And relax...

I hope your weekend is going well so far. I have had an amazingly relaxing day with my lil sis at the Lido in Clifton. After spending a ridiculous 15 minutes between us trying to park my sister's car in the overcrowded streets of Clifton, we eventually made our way to the spa.

We were so lucky the weather, as we had blue skies pretty much the whole time (although not quite as blue as the photo above... it is still just March afterall!). The pool being slightly on the chilly side at 23.6 degrees, we swam a little but mostly spent our time in the sauna, steam room and hot tub, with a few showers and cold buckets in between.

At three o'clock we left the pool for our afternoon tea, which was good as we could smell the restaurant food from the pool and it smelt amazing, so we had definitely built up an appetite! We got changed and made full use of the dressing tables with hairdryers and GHDs. We then made our way over to the restaurant and were seated in the terrace area by the window, enjoying the rest of the sunshine.

The food was delicious. The package included smoked salmon on toast with a glass of prosecco & a pot of tea with a scone, clotted cream and jam. Delicious!

Overall, we spent an amazing afternoon, relaxing and talking about everything. It was great to spend some time with my beautiful lil sis before she flies off to Australia next month, and I now feel the most relaxed I've felt in a long (!) time... Definitely what the doctor ordered!
